Peace Quest International has established a sister organisation in England. Our Representative is Sal Zaidi. Jan Babar and Sal Zahid will promote Youth Caring and Sharing Peace Project Schools in the area. During 18 - 23 February we are planning workshop on Fair Trade in Staines-Upon Thames.

Fair Trade Workshop for Schools
Peace Quest Fair Trade workshops are through non former education and to promote and teach the value and benefits of Fair Trade. Fair trade is about better prices, decent working conditions, local sustainability, and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers in the developing world.
A facilator from Peace Quest International, visit your school for 2 hours and brief presentation on Fair Trade for sustainbale development. This presentation emphasises the link between buying fair trade products and the benefits to local people in the developing countries. For example; Highlighting the problems of Farmer and Fisherman face in their daily life and discuss how Fair Trade can work as an alternative demonstrate the power of consumers and the difference we can make.
Curriculum: Citizenship, Geography, Numeracy and Literacy
Activity: pupils work in groups and rotate around the classroom answering questions on different Fair Trade products such as sugar, coffee, tea, chocolate, bananas and cotton.
Objective: to learn Fair Trade products and packaging and to extract information from various materials.
