The 29-30th November PeaceQuest International and KYA (Khmer Youth Association) held a workshop at HARGAR Restaurant locate on Street 310, House # 44, Sangkat Boeung Keng Kang I, Khan Chamkarmon, Phnom Penh.
The workshops brought together diverse humanitarian partners to debate openly and critically the humanitarian response and coordination mechanisms, with the aim of learning lessons and improving response and accountability regarding the Fair Trade and Sustainable Development in relations with the principle of human right and democracy. Part of the workshop was focused on analysing the political and socio-economic context in which we work, and building scenarios for the coming development trend. We discussed the humanitarian consequences of the context, i.e. people’s needs, and agreed on priorities for sustainable development and fair trade. The workshop brought into account the roles and responsibilities of key humanitarian actors, i.e. who could do what to address priority needs, as well as addressed advocacy for fair trade and demonstrate the sustainable development conceptual, which can have an impact on humanitarian response.
